National Moth Night 2004

Just read this today in the Winter 2004 issue of Buterfly Conservation's magazine 'Butterfly'.

This year's National Moth Night is to be held on Saturday 22nd May. Events are to be held all around the UK and members of Butterfly Conservation, county recorders and volunteers will be out looking for some of our most exciting species, and contributing to the vital monitoring work of our native moths.
There are many ways in which you can take part:

Record the moths in your garden
Organising or attending an event
Looking for one of the nominated target species or even choosing your own target species to find.

Further details can be found on:

www.nationalmothnight.info

Looks like a good, interesting night...will have to look for a local event!

I found the site via our local moth group's site - we (son Nick and me) hope to become involved more this year now we have a bit more experience with our moth trap.

Gill, The Durham Wildlife Trust usually have a good event on National Moth night on one of their reserves. Try contacting Terry Coult at the DWT for further information.
