Hummingbirds

Hello Everyone. I HAD planted a small Hummingbird Garden and put up a Hummingbird Feeder. I'm not sure what got into it but all of the plants are gone and it seems that something must have gotten to the feeder because it has been empty every day and it has an invasion of ants in the garden or should I say dirt since that's all that is left. I'm not sure if I should just start all over. I clean and fill the feeder every day and even purchased a different type of feeder. I don't know how to keep whatever is in there out and how to get rid of the ants before I start over. Any suggestions?

Also, I don't think there have been any Hummingbirds around but I hope I can get the garden fixed so that they will come around.

Sorry to hear you are having some problems. I don't have a garden for the hummers, just the regular plants we have in the yard. For the ants we use an ant moat above the feeder to keep the ants from getting to the sugar water. You can find an ant moats online.
You also might want to do another post where more hummingbird enthusiasts will find it in the Hummingbird forum. A lot of people go straight there instead of to the Birds and Birding area.
Good Luck.
