Unhappy Another poor week on Gibraltar

Hi fellow Ringers

Been on Gib.today to collect last weeks ringing data and again it is not good news for migrants from Africa.

NEW BIRDS RETRAPS

BLACKBIRD 0 2

BLACKCAP 3 0

CHAFFINCH 1 0

CHIFFCHAFF 6 0

GOLDFINCH 1 0

GREENFINCH 1 0

HOUSE SPARROW 1 0

ROBIN 1 0

SARDINIAN WARBLER 4 1

WILLOW WARBLER 4 0

My ringer on the rock was not even able to open the nets on 4 days out of the 7 due to adverse weather conditions.

Things can only get better.

At least the first Willow Warblers have started to move through.

That's interesting information - we've had a few chiffchaffs up here and the odd osprey but little else.

Chiff Chaffs and Blackcaps around here today but as you say , not a lot else.

Willow warbler at our local res. today suggests a slow northerly movement - we've had wheatear, too, but no ring ousels yet. An osprey, too, yesterday.
