Question Sparrow guide

I wasn't sure where I should post this...so I tried here, hope thats ok. I had been thinking of picking up a guide on the North American sparrows, hoping for some help on idenifying the tougher ones. I came across two different guides at the American Birding Association website--- Buntings and sparrows: A guide to Buntings and North American Sparrows and also--- Sparrows of the US and Canada: A photographic guide. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with these guides, and which one they thought more useful? I tend to like illustrations better then the photo guides, but wasn't sure which one would be more useful in this case.
Thanks,
Taco

Both Sparrows and Buntings (Byers et.al.) and Finches and Sparrows (Clement, et.al.) offer good in-depth species profiles. The latter covers fringillids, estrildids and passerids; the former covers emberizids. Both have fine drawings, both cover the world. I haven't seen the photographic guide, but personally always try to buy them as well, for comparison purposes.

Spend it-- you can't take it with you, Taco.
