I have lived in the same house in Timperley for 34 summers and Swifts have always nested in my eaves and those of at least 3 other houses nearby. This year, despite the usual sightings in early and mid May, I have hardly seen a single bird.Does anyone know if this is being repeated in other areas of the country or is there merely some local anomaly? Spent a week in Trujillo a month ago and the evenings in the Plaza Mayor were full of these wonderful birds along with Lesser Kestrels and of course, the White Storks nesting on the clock tower.
