Sandpipers (UK)
At 0430 this morning in pretty poor light I thought these were Commons, but now I've got home and processed the images and seen the long (ish) bills I'm more inclined to Greens...
I'd appreciate some assistance. |

Things that rule out Common include the spangly patterning on the mantle and head, the lack of a pale arm band, and the more obvious dark on the breast unbroken by any pale. General coloration overall darker better for Green too.

Cheers Dan.
In my defence, I was having a nightmare morning (see my 'Wader (UK)' thread) and it was very gloomy! Last edited by Sy V : Sunday 21st June 2009 at 12:08. |
