178. Twite (21/11 at Mouth of Ythan)

As winter approaches, it obviously becomes hard to see new species of birds for the year. 180 is really the target before the end of the year, and there are a quite a few winter birds there that are evidently missing from the list that I aiming to see (e.g. Long-tailed Duck, Great Northern Diver). Fingers crossed that I pass the target!

179. King Eider (x1 drake seen at Burghead, Moray)
180. Long-tailed Duck (x4 at Burghead)

I am very happy to say, with this trip to Burghead in Moray that I took a couple of days ago, that I have managed to reach my target, 180 species! I won't be going out birding again this year so it'll stay at 180. I hope to write a review of my birding year and post it here on Birdforum. As for next year list, I'll post that one the first of Jan when I see my first birds of the year, and continue from there. Obviously I hope to do better next year, despite 180being my best total so far.
