Any more shots, can't quiet rule out Rosy. Wing pattern looks good for Roseate with clearly defined black outer edge to outer primary against white inners. But not sure in this shot.

An interesting bird. The black is quite extensive on the bill, but is it enough for Roseate? I think this is a Common with a relatively extensive black tip, but would like to see more photos.

Looks like Common Tern to me, though once again, a single photo isn't the best way to get a safe ID. If it was a Roseate, then it would've been obviously much paler above than the Common Terns while you were watching it - absolutely gleaming silver. As someone in the hide said while I was at Minsmere the other weekend... "if you're not sure, then it's not one."

The funny thing is that the extent of red on the bill is so variable, it would be absolutely fine for a Caribbean RT ...

It does look a little too dark overall for Roseate.
On the few occasions I've been lucky enough to see one, the overall impression is ghostly white, long tailed and very delicate/elegant |
