Sparrows, Alps S France (1 Viewer)

These two looked like female House Sparrows, but one had a very yellow beak and the other a bit of yellow at the base of the beak. They were also very pale. Maybe juveniles ?

They are female house sparrows. The bills become yellowish in the non-breeding season. See here

Your birds both look like juvs, which have a rather stupid looking yellow gape, See here
