RFI & Car Hire

My friend and I are planning a visit to Zambia and Tanzania next month, and we are thinking of starting out in Lusaka and driving to Tanzania.

Is it possible to hire a car in Lusaka and drop it off in Dar Es Salaam, or even at the Zambia/Tanzania border ?. Does anyone know of any companies who allow that ?, apart from "Livingstone 4x4 Hire" who don't seem helpful. Also, I would prefer to support a locally owned and operated business ..

Also, which areas would be good for birding during late September in Zambia ?

Any information is greatly welcome and thanks in advance
