Is this a meadow pipit

-
Caught this bird at distance using my new teleconverter. Fine looking bird - is this a meadow pipit. Taken at same location I saw my first Reed Bunting the other day. Or is it a plain ol rock pipit or maybe something else!

The two pictures were taken about 40 mins apart at the same spot - so maybe they are different birds - though there again could be different birds but same species!

Hi,
The LH pic looks like a Pipit but the RH one is of a bunting by the looks of things and therefore they are of different birds. The bunting looks very 'rusty' in colour but that may be the light.

I'd say Mepit for the first though not the best angle, but there appears to be some buff on the breast, far too light IMO for Rocket.
Second I reckon is female Reed Bunting, legs aren't dark, but everything else is good for it. Short, stout bill etc...........

Thanks guys - counting that as two new ticks. The Reed Bunting I saw the other day was a male - smashing birds. These pipits are sure difficult to tell apart - any tips on distinguishing pipits?
