Cool. Check them out for any problems. Go to the extreme ends of the focus. Most binoculars go beyond infinity at the far end.

These are my favourite binos. I have had them for a very long time. They were bought before East & West Germany became one. As you can see from the pic, the eye pieces have perished, but I have orded a new pair, the 3rd I think.
If I could afford & needed a new pair of binoculars, I would buy the today's equivilent.

Yours have my vote for the happier looking pair of glasses in the forum!
..I rather a Swallow sticker than a Swaro logo!( note than I am only playing with words, and not intend to endorse or diminish any particular brand,Plus I really would love to have a pair of Sawros with Swallows stickers on them, when i tihnk about it..)

Thank you. The stickers look a bit tired now, a friend said I should wash them off? I have new eye pieces on order for them.

My little Nikon family portrait - all of them I have actually bought from fellow BF-members. I like them all in spite of their shortcomings... err... I mean the binoculars.
10x32HG roof (2003)
8x32SE porro (2005)
8x30EII porro (2009)

Ilkka

ps. Ardy & Renze, those old Trinovids (& Classic Zeisses) are IMHO still the most beautiful binoculars.

Those little 8x30 EIIs still call to me at times Ilkka. I never should have sold my pair to Cesear.

Cool

Guard cats on Binocular duty......These are the ones that I use the most, they always go where ever I go. Dont let these seemingly harmless cats fool you, they will rip you apart if you go near their masters binoculars ....... 7x36 ED2 , 6x32 Viper, 12x50 Burris Signatures. Yea I know Monkey & Midnight look like they just woke up, but that bed does have that effect on them.......Gwen

I like the case Gwen Is it a drill case that youv've lined with foam or something? Nice idea, keeps things safe when rattling around in the car.

Martin its a Plano four pistol hand gun case. They retail for about $25 not including sales tax at most sporting goods stores, but you can find them on Ebay for about $19 including shipping. I looked around for awhile before I found these. They are great if you want to carry more than one Bino, comes with all the foam inside you need. Just take out what works for you . I use the Bino Snug rug case if I just take one of my other binoculars........ and I dont work for Plano.........Gwen

Great cats and I love the fact that you rescue!!!

I too was wondering about your case. I have been looking for one for some time now. I ordered a Snug rug case, but didn't really care for it. I have a tough time zipping it ip around my Zens. You are the first person I know to also have one. This is off topic, but do you like the Sug rug? Do you use it only with certain bins? I would love to find a similar hard case for my 65 mm scope, without spending a ton of money!

Hi Laura, My Nikon 10x42SE fit very good into the snug rug I have for porros. I think the snug rug for roof prism binoculars is ok for the smaller roofs but runs out of room with the strap on for the larger roofs. I have a picture of my experiment dropping a chicken egg in a snug rug from my ceiling, it just shows that the egg did not break. This is in my gallery on here. I have no connection to the people that make snug rugs.
Regards,Steve
