How many Jack Snipe?

So whilst out birding today, I came across 6 Common Snipe, but how many Jacks?

So you came to the same conclusion as me then, there were none, better off imagining them.

Seriously, I spent ages scanning empty marsh in the vain hope of connecting with little old Lymnocryptes. Plenty of little patches of snipe poo and footprints though.

where I live there are about twenty times more Common than Jack Snipe around, so assuming the same ratio, if you saw six Snipe on your walk you would have seen 0.3 Jack Snipe

If only they were as common as that (or visible!) since I've lived in France, I've seen a grand total of 0 Jacks, last one I saw in the UK was in 1999!
