Far Ings Nature Reserve: Sightings for 14-05-04

Hello Everyone,

Was originally going to Epworth Turbary with a birding pal, but he was too ill to go, so went to Far Ings instead, don't ask me the logic, there isn't any.

Quite few people there, pity there wasn't more birds there. But it was an enjoyable day out. Arrived about 14:00 and departed at 16:15.

This is what I saw and heard:

Mallard - female with 11 ducklings
Mallard - female with 6 ducklings
Coot + 2 juvs
Cormorant - 3
Shoveler's
Great Tit
Blackbird
Magpie
Pochard
Swift's
Sand Martin's
Canada Geese
Greylag "
Crow
Jackdaw
Chaffinches
Robin's
Mute Swan's
G-C Grebe's
Tufted Duck's
Common Tern - 2
Collared Dove's
Moorhen

Heard a Bittern booming.

A Canada Goose got too close to the Mallard ducklings and the mother chased it off.

Regards
