Here's 5 of the 25 species we caught last night in a 3 hour session, the first three are easy (which is why I haven't renamed the files ), anyone want to guess at the the last two?
I'll post the full list when you've done with the two mystery moths.

Well I got 33 of no.4 in one of my traps! Haven't seen LKG (no.5) yet this year but did get another Acronicta sp. I ws expecting my this Hawk-moth but have not seen it yet.
I do record a few of no. 3 and have never seen no.1, just not in right habitat here, though I will be trapping in its habitat ealr y next week, so you never know.

Hmm,
Still hungover from last lights effort to support the Spanish grape growers. However I think that no.5 is KG, not LKG and no.4 looks like a faintly patterned LBA but if so, it's a very early specimen.
A very nice, fresh Scalloped Hazel ab nigra in the trap last night. Darker than that illustrated in Skinner.

Indeed Harry, I agree with KG, I read the book wrong! I do know the distinguishing features, but still have to look up to see what name applies to it,
but macthing the correct name to image is where breakdown happens.

And you changed your mind with no.4! LOL I now concur. SBA is unrecorded in Ireland.

I recorded 18 species yesterday including 4 seen during the day, one of them outside the garden. Also one Micro awaiting ID.

The Poplar Kitten is a goodie with only about 27 previous vice-county records.

It turns out that the best moth of the night was actually the most boring! Seraphim was only the second Manx record!!

Figure of Eighty has never been recorded in Ireland and Poplar Kitten is quite rare with no VC H20 (Wicklow) records.

This moth is scarce and local in Ireland, no Wicklow VC H20 records.
