Secret Weapon
I just posted the first result from a project I've been working on, a close up of a Young Cardinal, using a radio control unit for My cameras.
I have C.O.P.D, and some hip and knee problems, some days I do fine, others, not so good. On the bad days, there is no way I can hike long distances, then huddle in a blind waiting for a shot, for hours, even a blind in My yard. I used the electronic parts of an inexpensive radio controlled car, came up with a way to set My camera up, or have My Grandson do it for Me, and sit back as much as 100 feet away. The system still has minor bugs in it, no big flaws, however. Any other older folks out there that are interested, I'll be happy to share the plan, You don't need to be an electronics whiz to build this. Mine cost less than $30.00 to build, 3 hours of work. I'll even tell You Youngsters how to do it! I did not invent anything here, but I have not heard of any birders using the idea, just wanted to share it. |

I wonder, could you adapt it to carry a water pistol, that would be a fun way of frightening off the neighbours cat.

I have been thinking about this the last day or so and I rather fancy one of those robot type things on robot wars(have you seen that on TV?), I reckon something like that might spoil the cats day and be a bit of fun, I don't want to hurt it because I like cats, I just don't want them snacking on the sparrows I have been feeding all winter.
