Gull - Florida in January
Dear USA experts - would you help me identifying this gull?
I cannot find the ID in my few books - it has strange red-black spot on the beak and rather dark plumage on the back. Thanks a lot!!! Jiri |

Hi Jiri.
As Jose say´s, it´s a Great Black-backed Gull (LArus marinus). Adults of this gull looks like this: http://www.gull-research.org/gbbg/gbbg5cy/gbbgadjan.htm Your bird is slightly younger - or near adult. JanJ |
