Florida Snake In Pond
Saw this guy today in a pond at St. Marks National Wildlife Reserve in NW Florida, USA.
There is a red spot on its head that I think is just some trash from near by construction. He seemed to be hunting a frog when I took this pix http://upload.pbase.com/image/125791234/original.jpg |

Its a Nerodia sp. (the water snakes). Perhaps Nerodia floridana (the Florida green water snake). Non-venomous in case you were wondering.
