Not sure - NSW, Australia
Seen at Hunter Wetlands Centre, Newcastle (N of Sydney), Oct 09.
My best bet on this one is Tawny Grassbird, but didn't get a good look and the only photos we got are very poor. Perhaps someone who is familiar with Oz birds could tell me if I'm right or wrong, please. TIA .... |

Hi Helen,
It certainly looks like a Tawny Grassbird, I live with a few and often see them through blurry morning eyes! You can't always see the streaking very well, and this one looks particularly tawny, nice birds. Cheers, |

I was a bit confused at first by the black smudge below the cheek, but I think it must be vegetation. |
