Not sure - NSW, Australia

Seen at Hunter Wetlands Centre, Newcastle (N of Sydney), Oct 09.

My best bet on this one is Tawny Grassbird, but didn't get a good look and the only photos we got are very poor. Perhaps someone who is familiar with Oz birds could tell me if I'm right or wrong, please.

Hi Helen,
It certainly looks like a Tawny Grassbird, I live with a few and often see them through blurry morning eyes! You can't always see the streaking very well, and this one looks particularly tawny, nice birds.

I was a bit confused at first by the black smudge below the cheek, but I think it must be vegetation.
