I recently upgraded from s2IS to FZ35/38. On average, I notice that Iam able to get a higher percentage of photos that I am satisfied with. The pictures tend to come out a little sharper-although I often use a tripod now where as I didn't use to. On average-the pictures seem a little more colorful and vibrant too.-Sorry I'm not a photographer so I don't use photography terms.-The auto-mode on the fz35 seems to do a better job in reading the scene than on my s2IS too.
