Euan, I'm no expert on feeding but if you describe your feeding strategy, along with the feeder designs, it should be no problem to get rid of - or at least reduce - the numbers attending your garden.

The following sounds really stupid but it worked for my friend who lives in the countryside close to York.

Any Corvid, Woodpigeon, Collared Dove, which attended her garden and feeding table, was met with her slapping her slippers together. Katie now has no problems with Corvids or Collared Doves, etc.

Katie also told me that if she does see the odd one she now opens the conservatory doors..out of sight from the pests..and does the above. Presumably they think it's an air rifle or small bore shotgun.

She told me not to tell anyone... 'cos it sounds stupid and I do it in my dressing gown'...but what the hell!

Like me she has the very occasional Stock Dove and being rather shy..Stock Doves not us...we rather like them.

Don't forget to describe to the Forum how you are feeding the birds.

Spoke to katie's husband this morning and I got it wrong. She uses Michael's leather soled shoes and not 'her little slippers'..he takes a size 10, and you know what they say about guys with big feet.......big shoes!
