Tamron 90mm problem

Hi,

I have today aquired a Tamron 90mm macro lens for my Nikon D60 but already have a slight problem.

I have been taking photos with it all day with no problem and have been focusing in (using MF) to a very close range. However, just now, when I tried to focus in to the lens' minimum focusing distance, when I twisted the focusing ring, it will only go to a certain focal length, and refuse to go all the way to the lens' minimum focal length.

It's like the focusing ring is jammed and will only go to a certain point, and there is no way that it will twist any further. I don't quite understand what has happened because as far as I can tell I haven't damaged or dropped the lens in any way.

It's very hard to explain so bear with me, but if anyone has any tips or help to give, this would be much appreciated. I've got a warranty but want to see if I can do anything myself before getting a replacement.

Cheers,
Bill

EDIT: Problem solved the second I posted this. I had accidently flipped the lens setting from 'FULL' to 'LIMIT', limiting the focal distance. Will keep this thread up just in case anyone else encounters the same problem! (although I doubt anyone is as stupid as me )

no i bet everyone with a camera has done something similar ... I couldn't work out why my AF lens suddenly wouldn't AF, and it only took me an afternoon to notice the lens switch was in the Manual position

Particularly problematic where you have a focus switch on the camera as well as the lens.

Bill: I've done exactly that same thing with my Tamron... and my 300mm Nikon. Very easy to forget you've got the limiter engaged, especially if you only use it rarely.
