Matheson Hammock Fall Migration 2010 (Aug-Sept)

I spent a couple hours this morning birding Matheson Hammock in search of migrants regardless of the east winds. The highlight of my effort was a Prothonotary Warbler feeding low in the area where the narrow nature trail opens up to the area of big royal palms. Note the lack of Hill Mynas (!) and exotic parakeets on the day list! I did not visit the coastal mangrove area, thus no cormorants, pelicans, shorebirds, etc.

yay for the count! I'm going to try and do these two parks next Friday, if my feet will let me.

Still no Hill Mynas, huh?
