Incident highlights a big threat to Africa'ss large raptors

The above is just one of many incidents that have come to light in recent years across Africa from Kenya to Botwana and in no doubt just the tip of the iceberg in terms of the total carnage that furadan and other poisons are causing to already shrinking vulture and eagle populations. Indeed during my stay in Kenya last year many more experianced twitchers to this part of the world commented how scarce Vultures have become across the country with the only decent numbers now in the bigger NP's. Its not hard to see why this is the case given the above story
