Bushnell's bino-foto 7x50 - remarkable view
Have acquired a Bushnell 7x50 binocular called the Bino-Foto. It is a CF with B&L style body. The left ocular is designed for rapid removal to accommodate some sort of camera attachment. It has a 7.1 FOV and some sort of filter built in resulting in a very blue coating. Probably made in the 1960s or 1970s. The hard case is made of leather and finely finished. The strap for the binocular is braided leather.
Close examination shows that it is has been crafted like porro alphas of its era. The barrels inside are baffled to reduce reflections. The prisms appear to be both glued and strapped in place. The focusing is butter smooth. The finish is Zeiss like. But what sets this binocular apart is its remarkable view.
The sweet spot is huge and holds it detail almost to the very edge of the field, which is something my commercial B&L and Zeiss 7x50s won"t do.
Does anyone in BF land know anything about this particular model? If so I would appreciate your comments. John
