Red-breasted Merganser? - Seattle USA
I'm thinking this is a Red-breasted Merganser as opposed to a Common. The thinness of the bill and the little white stripe on the female are what I'm going by. These three pictures are not of the same birds but they were all together. I wish I could have provided better pictures.

This looks like a red-breasted merganser to me. Female red-breasteds have a "dingier" breast than common. Also, commons have a white chin.
