A good Rucksack - at last..
I've changed sacks every year since I started bird watching - all had weaknesses
Uncomfortable Leaked Can't get stuff in - Berghaus airflow types Designed for mountaineers - axe holders etc Got close with an ex forces sack but it was still uncomfortable. Bought a Jansport Firewire sack from Amazon Very well made, hasn't leaked, sensibly made to be packed with lots of stuff, very comfortable - has wide jelly shoulder straps, hasn't got hip straps which I never use and get in the way. |

Take a look at the new Berghaus Freeflow Pro rucksacks... the air gap isn't nearly as large as the older models, so much easier to pack - yet still have the brilliant airflow system.
