Antigua
Hi all, can't see anything on here about Antigua so not sure this is going in the right place but...... hubby and I are going to Antigua next year, can anyone suggest a good book on the wildlife? Also any ideas on where to go for good bird watching whilst we are there.
Thanks Gill |

For bird Id, the general West Indies book by Raffaele is the best one. There is a general nature club on Antigua and Barbuda called the Environmental Awarenes Group which you may be able to find on the web.
Re sites, try look at trip reports both here on BF and on Blake's site. McKinnaughs Salt Pond north of the main town and the ponds south of Jolly Harbour can be good. Get out in some of the forest as well. Also consider going to Barbuda (can be done in a one day trip with Winair) for the warbler and for the Frigatebird colony in the lagoon - in Codrington there is one little dock with several small boats that will take you to the colony, and there are ropes to indicate how close they should go.
