Nope, nothing at all. It’s an introduced game bird in California & elsewhere in western North America & it's not unusual to encounter the odd stray wandering about in unsuitable places of one kind or another. A couple of years ago I spotted one in my own neighborhood in Reno, crouched against the curb under a parked car.

Errr well its worth something to Pakistan! but perhaps only in terms of national pride. I doubt its worth anything in your area im sorry.

They were widely introduced as game throughout North America, under the belief that the prettier something is the more fun it is to kill. Since then numerous feral populations have successfully integrated into the local biodiversity. They are apparently common in the high desert areas of California.

Am I mis-reading this photo, or is there a plastic tie around its leg?

Indeed, and attached on to something, surely not another stuffed bird in the ID forum!

Tail feathers look quite greasy and scruffy.

Alive or dead, it is illegal for your friend to hold that Chukar without a permit. They are game birds subject to regulations.
