Osprey or Hawk? Eastern Ontario, Canada
Apologies for the poor image quality (caught without my long lens), but when I shot this I thought it was an osprey, but now I'm having doubts and wondering it it's not a hawk of some kind.
Is there enough detail in this image despite its imperfections to ID this? Shot at sunset so the light on it was reddish. |

Agreed. Note the dark "carpal bar" on the leading edge of under wing and the "belly band" of the bird in your photo.
