Seeing owls
Hi
The last time I saw a wild owl was Christmas eve 2009. It was a tawny. It was the same year that I saw two barn owls. All were in the town of Melrose. In my three years of birding I've only seen three wild owls. The barn owls are probably dead now after the snow. Last year and this year I've heard a lot of tawnys and a couple days ago I heard a long-eared. Do you have any advice for seeing owls. I have searched my local moors and hills for short-eared owls but never seen any. Thanks |

The time to see Owls is at Dawn and Dusk, I always used to see a Barn Owl every morning at my last site around 06:30, try it, perseverence is the Key, you have to keep looking..
