Just found baby bird............

My friend just gave me a baby bird (looks like a swift) and I just fed him egg yolk water and some parrot formula. What do I do now? I've contacted the humane society to ask them if they will take the bird or not. No email reply yet. What do I do now? Do I need to feed him at night?

Edit: PLEASE REPLY ASAP.

HI

Welcome to Birdforum.

I would check out for bird rehabbers in your area and give them a ring to see if they can help, wether they can with it being so young I dont know

Hi iluvsunconure and a warm welcome to you on behalf of the Staff and Moderators.

It's really important to get a correct identity so that the correct diet can be given. If you're correct and it's a swift, they will only eat insects (though you could try tinned cat/dog food).

We have some basic guidelines HERE: .

Please let us know what happens.
