Two dragonflies - Dobrogea, Romania
Are these two dragonflies the same species ? Is it (or one of them) Calopteryx virgo ?
Thanks.

The first one looks like Banded Demoiselle (Calopteryx splendens). I'm not sure about the second one - I would go with Calopteryx splendens too - but it isn't Calopteryx virgo.

For me both are Calopteryx splendens, even if the colours are not exactly the same the features are there (half dark, half translucent wings with the tip also translucent)
Cheers!!! ![]() |
