Buntings? BEDS UK

Can anyone confirm the id of these two for me. Im thinking Corn buntings but i'm not very up on buntings. They were seen in the same location and in close proximity to Skylarks.

Thanks for the replies. I should have realised the 2nd was a sparrow! It was an odd place for one though. That was taken at the juction of 4 fields, at least 300m from the nearest building and it flew off with the food into the middle of one of the fields. Could it be feeding young fledglings there?

That would be the only reason for it to carry food anywhere - it would have some young waiting nearby.
