Red-eared Parrotfinch from Mindanao, Philippines
Good day Birders,
Sharing with with another video: the high-elevation Mindanao endemic Red-eared Parrotfinch Click here to see the video: Red-eared Parrotfinch This small bird can only be found in the southern Philippines island of Mindanao and is restricted to montane forests above 1000 meters. The first part is probably the first video of an immature individual. (tough following a small skittish bird inside the underbrush!) Thanks for viewing! The first part of the video reminds me of my encounter with this, probably at the same place on the way up from Kitanglad camp -- piecing the bird together from various separate views of bits of it seen as it flitted around in dense cover.
The latter part is rather gripping! Nice video, thanks! Ian |
