Two Epinotia's, Norway.

Both from today, netted in sunshine.

1: Extremely small. Epinotia granitana?
2: Epinotia immundana?

Thanks
Svein B

I also add another two from today, netted in the mountains here.

My suggestion is
1: Phiaris septentrionana
2: Ancylis comptana (very small, appr. 4 mm length)

Thanks again

Thank You a lot again Harri. I must admit I struggle a bit with finding E. mercuriana being a good match to the one on my photo- but with a worn specimen like this one it will always be difficult. Your help is much appreciated, thanks.

One more thing- I do agree- the Ancylis looks much like A. obtusana. I also see the typical markings (round red part at the wingbase, and apex not so extended). Are there any possible confusion species we are overlooking? If not this seems to be a first for Norway, and that would be great fun- of course :)

IMO only Ancylis comptana, which has different wing apex, as you mentioned, and maybe A. unculana, which this is not.

Ok, that is good- and exciting. I have sendt the picture to the ones that deal with recording and distribution of butterflys here in Norway, looking forward to hear what they have to say too- It might be a "First for Norway", that would of course be a fun bonus. Thanks a lot for spending your time helping me Harri.
