Digital Rebel: Slow uploads to comp'

Yes, a Digital Rebel, not UK 300d......anyway, it came with the right 3 - pin plug on the charger and a 2 year warranty rather than 1 and was the cheapest I could find....

Anyway - I was very surprised at how slow the upload from the camera to computer was - even if just jpegs....and if raw.....well,

Then I uploaded by putting the CF card directly in the comp'....wow!! (including RAW) So much quicker !!!

I guess all you guys new that anyway.....but if anyone hasn't tried it.......

Chris.

PS: Not overwhelmed with the 18 - 55 lens...it's ok. But take a 'Body only' price away from a 'Kit' price and I think you would be struggling to get something comparable with the difference.

Hi Scrums...I have a Digital Rebel, as well...and upload my CF card to the computer via a USB 2.0 Card Reader. It works fairly fast. (although we get spoiled and nothing is ever "fast enough"). I have a 100-400mm Canon lens that I use 99% of the time, so I feel that the kit lens does an adequate job for the VERY few times I use it. At $100 USD, you would be hard pressed to find another lens of that zoom range. If I needed that range for my photography, I might look at upgrading...possibly the 17-40 L... but that is $700. Enjoy your camera...I love mine!!!
