I digiscoped this little "unknown" yesterday be in Hong Kong hanging around with Greenshanks. I've had 3 different suggestions so far.
I'm sure this group will narrow it down.

Intriguing! Looks like a juv Curlew Sand...but doesn't!

Would be interested to see more photos, but a Cox's, or similar hybrid seems a possibility.
 
I can't see anything else than a "normal" Curlew Sandpiper bill. Only the color is a bit "off". That could be a result of the mud it's sticking it into.
