Need ID help - Japan Sep/Oct

Hi, these might be difficult but we pulled out the best pics we got.

The first bird:

This bird was observed in the Imperial Palace East Garden in Tokyo. Some kind of warbler, perhaps? It was very high up in the tree. I'm not sure if the first 2 (back view) photos are of the same bird or not.

Second bird:

This bird was observed at Mt. Takao just outside of Tokyo. We were thinking it might be some kind of flycatcher?

Thanks for any help!

The second bird looks like a Muscicapa sp, I'd say Grey-streaked Flycatcher based on the 2nd shot.

First bird could also be a flycatcher perhaps? That tawny rump should be a clue perhaps? Maybe Narcisus Flycatcher??

Grey-streaked was what I guessed from the field guide since the text in mine mentioned that it had a very long primary projection - which the bird in the photo seems to have.

I have another bird I could use some help with. This time it's just a duck, also seen in Tokyo:

Something in eclipse plumage maybe? This duck was slightly smaller than the nearby Spot-billed ducks. I'd call it a medium-sized duck.

Hi Chris. So would that be a juvenile male from this year? I've never seen one, but it's not an adult male or female?

Hi Mac. I'd go with a juv. The last one I saw seemed to have bold fringeing on the tertials and a buffy / yellowish rump.

Chris

BTW I'll be back in Japan next month - but up on Hokkaido. Should get some cracking birds as I've got a chance to go out on a fishing boat out of Rausu

Thank you Chris!

I hope I get to make another trip to Japan soon, too!

Well, it sure looks a lot different from the adult of either sex, but on the other hand quite distinctive.
