Found a baby blackbird? don't know what to do..

HI,

My cat (Is now locked away for good) brought in a fledgling the other night, it doesn't seem to have any puncher wounds and was fine the next day so I don't think it was bitten (bacteria etc).

I put it in a box with some warmth over night and in a dark quiet place, and tried finding the nest the following day - no luck. So I tried to just put some drops of water on the outside of it's beak (I know not to force water down their throats) etc as I thought it may be dehydrated.. no luck, it just stared at me and was too scared I guess.

So I put it outside for the day and left it alone in hopes it's parents would find it and feed it (but I'm not sure how far it is from but assume close by).

I have heard it calling all day, and I haven't 'seen' the parents but will check again tomorrow - should I just leave it and hope for the best ?

Any vet or wildlifeservice around here, is governed by a law which would destroy it as it is a non-native species.

THIS is exactly what it looks like:

any advice on what I should do would be appreciated, thanks...

ps. also how long until it's flight feathers will come in ? it has no tail and looks just like the picture..
