Lightbulb Hangin' with JC in the City of Light

.
Hangin' with JC in the City of Light
Holy mackerel, it's quite a sight
But there's nothin' fishy goin' on here
If ya haven't been before, you'll find it a lil' *queer
Now you may think it'd look all shiny and bright
As it turns out, that's not quite right

It's not all shimmering glass towers, sparkling crystals 'n' that
In fact the architecture's rather quirky, and just a little naff
All intricate twisted red brick, similar to but not quite Red Square
Like nothin' you've ever seen, no suprise to find Rasputin there
No soaring cathederals, fractal patterns, or gilded temples displaying their might
No religions either, that's too many shades removed from white

Fundamentally they say, my god's better than yours
But they're missing the whole point, of the universal laws
Yer see it's not about separateness, special divine appointment and stuff
No immaculate conceptions, just brave souls whose time 'twas to wake up
But once you've seen the City of Light, beware the claridad** who thinks they're all that
'Cause while ever you can see a reflection in the mirror, you're just a sub-set

The traffic in tha City is multicoloured lights, roads chock full of creative energy
Goodness, warriors of truth, angels of inspiration, for you an me
Spiritual essence flows by, blended at quite a speed
Stopping for intersections, there was no need
Every blurred vehicle an auric rainbow, glowing soul carrying life
At once flashing by, both here and there, intermingled grid with no strife

It's the souls that provide the true beauty, in the City of Light
Magnificent spiritual knights, dedicated to what's right
A kind word, a quiet smile, reassuring hand
Human beings given to fly, here on land
A vision of inspiration seen by many, like an eagle high in the sky
Graceful divinity brings welcome comfort, for those with cause to cry

So thanks mate, for showin' me the way
That the forces of goodness, are behind the hope of a new day
They're just ordinary folk, like you an me
Who've woken up, from this sleepy human melee
A brief moment of transcendence, in the middle of the night
Hangin' with JC in the City of Light
