There will be rain, and possibly snow, in some parts of Penns Woods today.

Kindred Spirits

.
Me and John Muir, yeah, we'd be mates

Juan over here, one in United States
You see, we share a common bond
About the land, we both understand
Once truth you have seen, it cannot be undone
Essence of life with you, permanently one

Yeah, me and John Muir, we'd be mates

Age 28 through one-way door, determined by fate
But before that day, came help from above
A loving hand shows me the way, peaceful dove
A gorgeous Rhine Maiden, it was love at first sight
She disappeared from view, apparition fade into night
All too brief moment, desired passionately
This is the vision she whispered to me

I see a preacher, and his gathered flock
You're nearby, crouched down by a brook
They're outside a church, waiting to go in
But you've turned away, back to them
Looking intently, totally captivated by what you see
A solitary fish, as it makes its way upstream
Like an open book I exclaimed
How did you know? - that's me to a tee

The love I felt, exploded to take up the globe for thee
I could see myself, brief human eternity, down on one knee
Distraught was I, when turned and she was gone
Not so much golden haired beauty, as angelic vision
A hole deepened inside me, as empty as space
Luckily a Native American mystic, roamed the same place
I looked at her warm eyes, knowing writ wider
And took her hands, filled with light they were on fire

I explained to her tales of wild men, and angels I did see
She just held my hands, smiled and listened genuinely
I said I like my light direct, on the hurry up with no guff
I don't really go in, for that gathered stuff
She said me too, and told me a story of a golden stream
A near death experience, bullet holes to prove it was no dream
I thanked her, she smiled gently, wishing me luck
The journey ahead, no road, track or path, let alone truck

Yeah, me and John Muir, we'd be mates

So don't follow wild men, that have lost their way
Tee hee, they need a donkey, just like JC
But into the wildest lands you must go, to truly see
You don't need to spend forty days and nights
Just open 3 eyes and wake up, to gain insight
Soaring sentinnels our cathederals
No need for a gathering of people
Preaching snake-oil salesmen, interpreting your course
We get our light, direct from the source
The light is inside you, and all around as well
You'll get a good sense of it, if in old growth forests you dwell

Yeah, me and John Muir, we'd be mates

Ancient natural wonders, the key to heaven's gates
It's not just, meadows, mountains, rivers, and lakes,
or woodlands, wetlands and forests we see
It's about something greater, than you and me
Life in the balance, since the beginning of time
It doesn't need us at all, it did just fine
It's not just resources, for us to destroy and use
We could do much worse, than love her as muse
It's not just here for our benefit, to observe
The way we've treated it, a privilege we don't deserve
No warm fuzzy feelings, saving isolated reserve
I agree with John Muir, it's a gift we must preserve

Yeah, me and John Muir, we'd be mates

Up is down, hot is cold, and black is white
Don't get me wrong, darkness ain't right
As surely as night follows day, you must live in the light
As you go further, you must develop your own insight
No ceremony, script, or one to hold your hand
You'll find the source, in the spirit of the land

Yeah, me and John Muir, we'd be mates

Take your pick of what you want to read about him from this page, Dogbreath.

See Zen-Ray I'm being kind and helpful again... I really do deserve a new pair of bins.
