Ghana

Just got back from a fortnight in Ghana. Damned sight warmer there than here! Had a great time thanks to Kalu Afisi of Malimbe Tours.Great lad, dedicated birder, doesn't stop even when it gets dark.... Makes you walk miles! I left my favourite Hi-tecs at the airport as both soles had parted company with the uppers. Report later but can;t recommend Kalu enough :)

Take care,
Nice to hear from you.Yes it really is a year since we were both in Ethiopia.!!! The guy we are going round Ghana with sounds like the local equivalent of Abiy. We were hoping that Abiy was going to come to the Birdfair last August to represent Ethiopian Quadrants, but he left applying for his visa too late.Maybe this year? The target bird in Ghana is the Rockfowl, but I should add a few more West African species to my life-list which I didn't get in two trips to Gambia.

All the best,

Tom.

Wow Ghana is a place I have always wanted to visit, Im going to Alaska and Canada next month for my own trip. I cannot wait. I wanted some recommendations from poeple of certain tours etc in those areas, but its great to see you using them. Where abouts in Ghana did you stay?

We moved about and stayed in several different places from the coast to Mole. There is more detail in my report. Alaska and Canada sound great but we do like our sun! :)
