Birds in Kenya - December

Is the first picture a juvenile Oxpecker? This was taken in Sweetwater. The second picture is a dove tht I saw plenty of, but cannot figure out what it is from my book. This was taken near Lake Bogoria, but they were common elsewhere too. Picture three I assume is a sparrow in a funny position which does not help me ID her. The last is a weaver of some sort, unfortunately in very bad lighting. Three and four were taken in the Bogoria, Niavasha area. Thanks.

More birds

Here are a few more birds who I cannot ID, any help will be appreciated. In the first group of pictures, when the dove flew away, there was no white in the tail if that helps.

Is the first picture a juvenile Oxpecker?

Yes, but I'm not sure how to seperatev them in immature plumage.

The second picture is a dove tht I saw plenty of, but cannot figure out what it is from my book.

An immature Turtur sp? Emerald spotted perhaps?

Picture three I assume is a sparrow in a funny position which does not help me ID her.

Am immature Passer. What adult Sparrows were about? Chances are it's the same species.

The last is a weaver of some sort, unfortunately in very bad lighting.

Not sure at all, sorry.

James

Female Mocking Cliff Chat, Pale Flycatcher (?), no idea, beyond something Weaverish, and another Passer I think, but I can't quite place it.

No books with me I'm afraid!

Imm oxpecker - looks like it has a pale rump so yellow-billed

Dove - maybe emerald-spotted

Juv sparrow - could be northern grey-headed?

Agree with mocking cliff-chat and pale flycatcher.

The last photo looks like Northern Grey-headed Sparrow.

And sorry, I'm ignoring the weavers for now!

I agree with James, except for the juv sparrow (pic 3 in set 1) - it looks more like a chestnut or simply house sparrow with the eyebrow. I'm not trying the weavers from these shots either!

Had a quick look through the books last night and go along with TZBirder's assessment.

Thanks, my book does not have a pale flycatcher, but that would not be the first mistake in the book. They have a Pallid Flycatcher, Bradornis pallidus, is that the same bird? I guess I will go with House Sparrow and call the others a loss. Do not want to claim a bird on flimsy evidence.

Our opus page for Pale Flycatcher says: Alternative names: Pallid Flycatcher or locally Mouse-coloured Flycatcher
