I can totally identify with this! I Come across it all the time here in deepest South Yorkshire, even in so-called 'protected areas'. Fab recent works, sir! I especially love the superbly simple LEO and Bittern sketches. Your style is very much in the vein I'm now trying adopt! Russ |

Not much more to say than this! I am curious about that top bird though if first painting. It looks so similar to some of our thrushes.

just back in for another look at those two: never know whether to laugh (and be inspired in one's own work) or cry (and give up..) when the Derrys get posted
first one is such a joyous spring clusterbang of the birding senses second of the Garganey a timely reminder that less can be more Last edited by ed keeble : Wednesday 11th April 2012 at 10:59. |

Stingy with your hints Tim! I'd gone through LJ's Birds of Europe before posting my comment. But you've sent me back again. So I will hazard a Song Thrush, unless of course it really is one of ours.

Lovely work, Nick - the stack of birds looks like the cover of an avian Famous Five-type book.
"Oh Thrushy, if you would just stop smashing snails for a minute, we might find a clue..."

Jingly, jangly 30's jazz collection followed by a zen garganey piece. Could only both have come from your hands.

If he had he'd have got the sack...
(seriously, I'm pretty ashamed of myself for that)

lol, but for them to have known about the ballcreeper, would have required me showing, which would perhaps be a justifiable sacking offence. Tico is healing nicely, starting on the itchy phase now, and pondering a purple sandpiper or two on my calf.

Hahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahahah - I've always wanted to post that. I may have mentioned elsewhere what I think . . . no, what I 'feel' about these recent works. Pure; evoking all the delights of the bright season and done in such an ethereal way - just as these days seem to be. Makes me sick.
