I think that they are juvenile Whiskered Terns. It would be hard to rule out White-winged Black Tern but that species is very rare anywhere in India.

Hi all,
I also think that these are juv. Whiskered Terns, though I must confess to being a little puzzled at first: the penny dropped when I read the responses! In my defence, I've only seen a handful of this species abroad (none here yet), and never got great views. The thick-looking bill would rule out White-winged Black Tern of the same age.
