For Oman, definitely use Porter & Aspinall 2010 (Birds of the Middle East).
Aspinall & Porter 2011 (Birds of the UAE) is a cut-down version of the former, and will of course exclude many species occurring in Oman, particularly in the south (Dhofar). |
