Anyone remember March 1990?

In late March 1990, Britain experienced a good influx of rarities from Europe including 28 Night Herons, Squacco Heron, 2 Black Kites, 5 Black-winged Stilts (plus 11 in Ireland), Caspian Tern, 4 Alpine Swifts, Subalpine Warbler, Sardinian Warbler and 4 Woodchat Shrikes (plus 2 in Ireland).

So what would you like to see in the next week as this warm southerly weather continues?

Today we've had Baillon's Crake, Alpine Swift, Black Kite and Woodchat Shrike in Ireland with another Alpine Swift on the Outer Hebrides.

We'd have to wait till late summer but I would expect to hear at least three of those species had bred somewhere in Britain this summer.

I've read about that spring, but I was too young that time to notice it myself.
So, cattle egret and little bittern would be nice!

Yep. Missed it off the records as it wasn't in the 1990 BBRC report.

Wasn't that the spring with the mental end of May/early June? Pallas's Sandgrouse, Alpine Accentor, Tree Swallow, Ancient Murrelet.....

There was a Black Guillemot reported off Lundy yesterday. Did the observers eliminate Pigeon Guillemot?
