Least Tern

Shot this bird in Brooklyn NY this morning. The bird is about the size of a Least Tern, but I always thought the beaks are supposed to be pure yellow.

Can anyone confirm it's identity? Thanks in advance...

Dave

True only of adults in breeding plumage. Juveniles (which your bird is) have darkish bills.

You're welcome to this, or if you want the full size version, you're welcome to that...

It is now on the opus page: http://www.birdforum.net/opus/Least_Tern

You should try uploading to the Gallery as well, many more people could enjoy your image.

I hadn't finished processing all the images when I posted that one. Here's a better image of the same bird.
