I wanted to check my compatibility with Leica bins because of their apparently short specified eye relief. i contacted Bakers in Lewes, Sussex. They have one bin on sale before no longer being a Leica dealer. They said it was an ultravid 10x42 and, if I recall correctly, it was about 800.

Please call them first to check I have the right information. 01273 476479

Leica Trinovid 599.99

Uttings have the Leica 8x42 central dioptre large focus wheel binocular at 599.99.

Good price, the new Trinovid is listed at 769.

Several retailers, including Cley Spy, have had the Kowa Genesis 8x33 on sale at just under 500 for several months (and some have sold out). Now Clifton Cameras is selling the Kowa Genesis 10x33 for 549. Other retailers are charging between 800-900.

Cheaper than the Zeiss Conquest 10x32s they are well worth the money I think.

Uttings have a bank holiday offer that gives buyers an additional 50 (Code LESS50) off the 8x42 Trinovids mentioned above reducing the cost to 549 plus 5.99 postage. The offer ends midnight Tuesday 31st of May.

Harpers Photo in their Used Miscellaneous section have a Leica 10x32 HD (whatever that is).
Also Cash Converters (yes I know) have an Opticron DBA Oasis S-Coat Mg 10x42 going cheap (lovely codition apparently); you'll need to provide your own case and rainguard.

Benro Carbon Fibre tripod 139

Seems a reasonable tripod for an angled scope at a very decent price.

Available from Wex Photographic http://www.wexphotographic.com/benro...ripod-1574213/

Specs here http://www.benroeu.com/products/benr...specifications

I suspect this blow-out means Canon will soon replace this model.

I am afraid that's wishful thinking. It's just one retailer, after all.

Nice deal for somebody, I'm not connected to the seller or in the market, sadly.

The 2017 Canon Japanese catalogue lists the 3 new models only just hitting the dealers but guess which mode actually gets pride of place on the cover...

http://cweb.canon.jp/pdf-catalog/bin...binoculars.pdf

Curry's PC World are the largest electrical retailer in Europe selling everything from toasters to ovens. In October they sold 20 x Canon 10x42L on Ebay, So maybe they are getting a bulk discount from Canon (UK) for ordering in volume and then applying it to something that is actually rather specialized, with a limited market in the grand scheme of things.

Anyway, I've decided to keep the one they sent 2 weeks ago, it performs really well.

PDF brochures are easy to update. I might be wrong, but I have noticed Currys often appears to have advance warning of model replacements possibly because they are so big.

If a new model arrives, it will be far, far more than 700.
